Shruti, who holds a Master’s degree in Computer Applications, is an accomplished singer trained in Carnatic classical and light music with over 2 decades of singing experience.
Her musical journey began at a very young age under the guidance of her first teacher, her mother, who recognised her talent early and encouraged her participation in various singing competitions.
She later trained under several esteemed teachers: Carnatic classical music under Smt. Kalavathy Avadhooth, light music under Smt. Malati Sharma, and specialized training in light classical music and kritis of specific composers under Smt. Dwaraki Krishnaswamy.
Shruti is a versatile singer experienced in singing genres including Carnatic classical, devotional, light music, hindustani style of music, filmi, and has a special passion for ghazals.
With an immense passion for voice, and guided by renowned artists from Chennai, disciples of A. R. Rahman, Merit Scholars from London, and Western classical opera artists, along with years of self-learning, research, and close observation of senior musicians, Shruti now trains aspiring singers in effective voice-improvement techniques.
Shruti is a B-High grade artist of All India Radio (AIR) and a National-level AIR award winner. She has performed on various television channels and prestigious platforms like Ravindra Kalakshetra, Gayana Samaja, Kannada Sahitya Parishad, Indian Institute of world culture etc, and is known for her clear embellishments, strong technical foundation, and effortless singing.
She has recorded for various albums, including Kannada Ghazals, which remains one of her most cherished projects.
She received State and Central Government scholarships and has passed her classical exams with distinction.
Shruti won two reality shows Nityotsava (MSIL, Doordarshan) and Yede Tumbi Haaduvenu (E-TV Kannada, 2007), which led to major opportunities, including releasing album for MSIL under renowned composers , Sri C. Ashwath and Sri H. K. Narayan and performing with Dr.S. P. Balasubrahmanyam on E-TV(Kannada) for two seasons.
She has had the privilege of working with several other renowned musicians, including Raju Ananthaswamy, L. Vaidyanathan, Praveen Godkhindi, Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma, Jyotsna Srikanth etc.
As a child, she won several medals and awards to her credit.
Shruti, as a child demonstrated remarkable aptitude, which led to opportunities to work as a voice-over artist, as well as singing and acting as a music student in films directed by Sri T. S. Nagabharana.
She won the Best Student Award for three consecutive years in college and was honoured with the title “Nightingale of Carmel Convent.” by her school management.
She is also enthusiastic about music composition, with some of her work aired on radio and television and one released on her YouTube channel
Shruti has performed across India and the UK.
Passionate about teaching, she has trained many students and conducted workshops. She has judged several music shows and recently served as a jury member on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa (Zee Kannada).
She embraces music as a form of service, sharing it in purposeful musical activities. She has partnered with startup organizations and remains eager to collaborate with emerging artists on contemporary music projects. She loves exploring challenging songs by various artists, which she believes is an effective way to maintain and strengthen the voice.
